Set password to user MySQL’s root in PhpmyAdmin and XAMPP

When installing XAMPP by default the user root of MySQL has not password, for this reason, we should set password to user MySQL’s root in PhpmyAdmin and XAMPP to use this tools without problem. In this post I’ll tell you how to do it.

MySQL’s root  in PhpmyAdmin and XAMPP.

We can realize that the root’s user has not set a password because we’ll see a screen like the following one.

XAMPP installation

We click in User account.

And select the last option for root and click in Edit privileges.

Thereafter, we click in Change password.

In my case, I’ll set root@pwd like password.

In this point, we should see something as the screen below.

Now, we’ll set the same password in the config file in the PhpMyAdmin’s folder in XAMPP. For this, we should search the next path: C:\xampp\phpMyAdmin

And find the file config.inc.php

Once in this, we’ll set the same password in the correct line
